Gouache, watercolor and micron pens create random patterning in my journal. This particular technique was inspired by sketches in one of my student's journals.
Just like with the Painting a Dog a Day project, my love of journalling began out as a means to feed my creativity and keep the ideas flowing.
And now it's blossomed into leading workshops and teaching others how to discover their own journalling voice.
Each session involves a new concept and a mess of supplies - attendees only need bring a blank book or their journal and an open mind. Past classes have included printmaking, stamp carving, stenciling, collage, 3D page construction, sketching, calligraphy and text, sewn embellishments and water-based media. You need not have any artistic skills or prior knowledge to journal.
I am now accepting enrollment for the following workshops, all happening at Little Monsters Toy Shop in downtown Lake Orion:
Journalling for Kids (ages 5-15), Apr 17th, May 1st, May 15th, May 22nd and June 5th, NEW! 2 sessions, from 11-12:30 and from 1-2:30. $15/class or all 5 for $60.
grownUP Journalling, 3rd Thursdays, 6-8pm, $15/class.
Intro to Sketching, June 12th, 1-2:30, $15.
Due to limited space and materials requirements, please confirm enrollment with me prior to attending.
I will also be leading a teen journalling session at the Lake Orion Library on Thursday, April 14th, from 7-8:30
Email me to sign up or ask questions about any of the classes.
Wanna throw an excellent party? talk to me about a journalling event! I can cater to a variety of ages and interests, from birthday parties and cake to an evening with The Big Kids and wine.
Thanks in advance for sharing my artwork with your friends and family,
