Prince's Boy

"Prince's Boy," 12" x 16", acrylics on a museum quality panel, a special piece depicting a therapy equine and one of his many boys. This painting will travel with me next week to The Tulsa Boy's Home , where it will be auctioned off to benefit their educational program on Derby Day. I will also be signing posters and cheering on the horses. Ticket information is available here . Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim

Mona Lisa's Garden

"Mona Lisa's Garden," 10" x 20", acrylics on a museum quality panel, a portrait of Mo Bug (my studio kitty). This delightfully impressionistic garden painting can be yours for $399 (this is a bargain price, but it's also much looser and juicier and sketchlike, so I thought I'd price it accordingly) - let me know if I can wrap her up for you! There's several gardens growing in the studio ( Daisy and Posey ), and another one blooming outside. Life is good at Casa Santini. ALSO: come paint with me in Tulsa next week - May 4th and 5th. More information can be found here . Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Brodie, a Painted Sketch

"Brodie," image approximately 6" x 6" roughly centered on a 9" x 12" bristol board, acrylics, commissioned portrait of a golden retriever puppy.  Don't you adore that cowlick running straight up his face? ALSO: seats are still available in my Tulsa workshop which is May 4th and 5th. More information can be found here . Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

The Winner's Circle

"The Winner's Circle, American Pharoah," 24-3/4" x 24", depicting Triple Crown champion American Pharoah (after winning the 2015 Kentucky Derby). This was my view on Derby day, painted from iPhone photos I took from our seats at the finish line. I still can't believe it happened - that I was the Kentucky Derby artist - and that we have a new Triple Crown winner to boot!.  This painting is acrylics and mixed media on a museum quality panel. It is available for $2980 (including s&h within the US). I am happy to discuss payment plans - inquiries may always come  to me.   Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

The Tulip Princess

ABOVE, detail of "The Tulip Princess," 24" x 36", from "The Dryad Series," acrylics on gallery stretched canvas, depicting a figure emerging from a tulip garden. BELOW, the full painting. Inquiries may come  to me . I've got 3 more large figurative works in process. I'm experimenting with different sorts of underpaintings, comparing various drawing tools, and building a jungle of growth on canvas. I can't get into the studio quickly enough in the morning, and I fall asleep painting in my head. I'm so very lucky! Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Andy

"Andy," image approximately 5" x 6-1/2" roughly centered on a 9" x 12" bristol board, acrylics, commissioned portrait of a border collie-lab mix. This is one of the last painted sketches I have left to complete. I also managed to get some work done on a couple larger floral pieces. I am preparing a project and samples to submit to this year's ArtPrize. Send me good vibes (or a straight jacket - am I crazy to be painting a 5 foot square canvas?!) Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Abby, a Painted Sketch

"Abby," image approximately 5" x 5-1/2" roughly centered on a 9" x 12" bristol board, acrylics, commissioned portrait of a Catahoula-mixed breed dog. Abby's painting was one of the limited number of painted sketches I accepted in February - I have a few left to do still. These works on paper are so much fun to do. And do you see that I squeezed in a couple violets (flowers) here?  Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Sistering

"Sistering,"** 16" x 22", from "The Dryad Series," acrylics on gallery stretched canvas, depicting two magical spirits in a tangle of ranunculus. Inquiries may come  to me . Last week, while The Princess and I tackled all but one thing on her Spring Break stay-cation bucket list (and not for lack of trying!), the boys took on Las Vegas. And I got quite a bit of painting done, but did give myself a vacation from blogging and sending out newsletters.  And this is one of the pieces that resulted. Lots of wonder happening here, with layers of marks, drips of paint, and other interesting brushwork. I adore this piece - and the floodgate of imagery it has inspired. Just wait and see! **Also, if you are unfamiliar with the concept of "Sistering," you have to read this! Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim

Brontosaurus Pinkus

"Rare Sighting of Brontosaurus Pinkus, Thought Extinct," 16" x 20", acrylics and mixed media on canvasboard, depicting an arrangement of roses which have lured the elusive Brontosaurus Pinkus from hiding. This remarkable moment is now preserved forever, and it can be yours for $449 (with complimentary s&h inside the US) to the first asking nicely . I've been so engrossed in arranging, painting, and rearranging flowers the past couple weeks that I've completely missed out on paying attention to the wildlife they are attracting. The studio habitat is a wonderful space! Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Sweetie

"Sweetie," 12" x 12", acrylics with pencil on canvasboard, depicting a sleepy bull terrier amidst a jumble of sweetheart roses. $529 (with complimentary s&h inside the US) to the first asking nicely . SOLD (thank you!) I'm going through older paintings and giving some of them a facelift with a floral overlay. This particular piece has multiple layers underneath, but I am totally enamored with the newest incarnation. He would make the best Mother's Day gift. Roses that never fade, and a face that's always ready to snuggle. And here's a bonus painting for today - another one that will make a great Mother's Day gift - and it's only $329!
